my comments:
This being the first song I have released in a while, I thought I will explain! This is the first song of what I call the “Single Series”. The songs I am writing and recording now are just the way I hear them. Influences, styles, they are all purposely not avoided the way I and many writers have in the past! I don’t care! lol! If you listen and say, “Hey that sounds a lot like…” It probably does!
The lyrics came first with this song. I liked the story. As I proceeded to write the music I realized the simpler I kept it the better it sounded. I decided to plunk out some chords on the piano and it made sense from there.  I was naturally very nervous about whether I could still do this!  I asked one of my closest friends, songwriter, producer and many other things, Mike Gladstone, for some insight. He eased my mind with some production ideas. I guess it’s my interpretation of a more modern “pop” sound.  ~JC
