All day long it’s been like listening to
A riff in my head from a guitar blues
I’ve got the scars from all I’ve done (he’s got scars)
My feets are moving, but I can’t run (he can’t run)

Mr. Guitar man you play and I’ll sing
Well I bet you thought you had a lock on that thing
You probably think you been lower than me (lower than he)
Aw but you better take a good looky and see (look and see)

Is there no sanctuary, no escape from this pain
Just like a song (just like a song)
It’s singing in my brain (in his brain)

I feel the weight of every sad song I’ve sung
I tried living right but look what it brung
I Ain’t got nothing so, that’s all there is to lose
So I’m singing a singer’s, guitar blues

Mr. Guitar man you play and I’ll sing
I bet you thought you had a lock on that thing
You probably think you been lower than me (lower than me)
Aw but you better take a good look and see (look and see)

Between the holes in my heart and the pain in my soul
We going to rip it up yeah, we’re gonna let it all go
